Subclass 462 Work & Holiday Visa
This visa opens up workandtravel opportunities to more nations—but comes with extra steps like education and language requirements.
Who Can Apply?
Aged 18–30 (extension to 35 years may apply for specific countries).
Citizens of eligible countries including USA, Spain, Argentina, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Turkey, Singapore, Portugal, Czech Republic, and more.
No dependent children allowed.
Must meet additional criteria: tertiary qualification, English proficiency, and government letter of support (except for U.S. applicants).
Visa Benefits
Stay in Australia for 12 months.
Work up to 6 months per employer
Study or train for up to 4 months.
Reentry allowed during visa.
Second- and Third-Year Options
Complete 88 days of specified work in regional Australia to qualify for a second-year visa.
A further 6 months specified work in year two unlocks a third-year extension.

Requires qualifications or English test and often a government support letter (NOT required under subclass 417.
Visa cost: similar to subclass 417 (approximately AU $670.)
